Sport England Olympics Tour
THE BRIEF
PricewaterhouseCoopers, (PwC) the Professional Services Firm appointed by Sport England, approached Roadshow Promotions to look in to developing a double decker promotional bus to promote Sports Club Leader Training or better business skills to Sports Club Leaders.
Booked for 6 month tour, the promotional bus traveled the length and breadth of the England visiting leisure centres, sports clubs and city centres, providing free business support to club leaders.
Phase One of the tour was to follow the Olympic Torch Relay starting in Taunton and finishing in London for the start of the Olympics.
Phase Two involved the promotional Bus being in and around the Home Counties during the Olympics and Paralympics
Phase Three a full tour of England, returning to some areas, but focusing on some of the areas not yet visited
THE RESPONSE
Create a safe environment for Sport England, PwC Staff and visitors, where visitors can gather more information about the Free, Better business skills for Sports Club leaders.
The promotional bus should also provide access to a number of internet enabled computers for visitors to access a range of online modules, the bus being equipped with its own set of web and media servers in the event the internet was unavailable
After a number of discussions relating to the expected activities on board the bus, we put forward our proposal for the interior, with reasoning attached.
We kept the interior layout simple and effective and suggested utilising one of our standard IT training buses
The promotional Bus was already configured with many of the fixtures and features required, including 12 upper saloon workstation areas, basic seating, kitchen and generator to the lower saloon.
THE RESULT
After a visit by the client we finalised the modification plans and undertook the conversion work on the vehicle interior, before applying a full vinyl wrap to the exterior
The bus to be branded internally and externally with the Sport England Club Leaders branding and colour scheme.
The bus then commenced its 6 month England only tour during the first phase visitng towns and cities just before, after or during the torch visit.
During the Olymipics the bus spent 3 weeks parked as a meeting point in Hyde Park London
For the last couple of months of the tour the bus bounced around the UK visiting many sporting events and attracting Sports Leaders to come aboard
