RSP09 Static Training Bus

All good things must ultimately end and after years of exemplary service, RSP09’s life as a promotional tour bus has come to an end and although the interior is of a useful standard the mechanics of the bus have reached the “end of the line” and the bus has been retired to our extensive and popular static fleet.

Being part of our static fleet RSP09 is ideally suited to rapidly provide its primary purpose of being a classroom training bus.

Unlike most static office or training units RSP09 has the ability to be rapidly deployed to any flat or semi flat surfaced area, such as a carpark or field and with the addition of a nearby 13/16-amp power supply be fully operational within minutes of arrival

RSP09 Features

This single decker’s promotional features include external vinyl branding over the buses black painted bodywork, internal branding areas at various locations within the bus allowing clients to really highlight the product, service or concept the bus is promoting.

The bus could display, promote, service, concept information and/or products throughout its interior via the internal TV’s and/or worktops, with the added benefit of a group meeting room to the rear of the vehicle. The bus also can be equipped with its own WI-FI network which can be connected to a mobile broadband network for internet access.

When it comes to AV equipment the bus is configured with 1 x external facing TV plus 2 x front saloon LCD TV’s and 1 x rear saloon LCD TV’s each of these are in turn connected to a bank of DVD players allowing the TV’s in each section to display the same or different media. In addition, the buses worktops can be equipped with one or more laptops

The vehicle has a hospitality kitchen capable of supplying a constant stream of hot/cold drinks from the provided water urn fridge and microwave and comes with leather covered, cushioned bench seating to the rear meeting room and midsection seating, some of the seating with storage under.

RSP09 History

RSP09 or ‘Millie’ having spent over 10 years as an LEZ compliant 11.5m training and marketing bus is based upon a Mk1 Optare Excel Single Decker bus. ‘Millie’ spent a short stint as a service bus, the bus was then bought and developed for Blackpool Council as a Youth Health Engagement vehicle, popularly known as the “Condom Bus”.

Upon purchasing the vehicle, we decided to keep some of the interior layout as it was, making a few refinements and modified the rest of the interior with a more adaptive set of features to suit several different event types.

The vehicle’s initial function was as either an exhibition bus a training bus, mobile classroom, or even a media bus. However, the bus was used for a wide range of promotional, informational, exhibition, or even Health Bus Mobile Clinic, type tours.

Millie, as the bus is affectionally known as, has the distinct honour of being the first of our buses that have travelled throughout Europe, travelling over 40,000 miles over the course of a year promoting the latest heart monitor and pacemaker for Medtronic, at the same time the bus probably became the most photographed and videoed bus in the fleet, the bus being followed by journalists whilst entertaining many government officials, doctors and surgeons.
