The Brief
In 2011 the publishers John Wiley & Sons Ltd celebrated the 20th Anniversary of it’s popular educational reference book series “for Dummies” the worlds best selling reference brand
To thank it’s millions of fans the celebrations the For Dummies Books hit the road with a whistle stop converted HGV promotional roadshow tour of the UK.
Roadshow Promotions were invited to join the fun by supplying the converted promotional roadshow vehicle, the centre peice of the whole event. Travelling over 1,800 miles to 8 city locations
The Response
We were asked to supply a suitable converted vehicle to travel around a number of cities in the UK promoting the for Dummies brand 20th Anniversary.
The vehicle needed to be converted on the inside to carry a range of ‘for Dummies’ series books, along with iPads and Kindle book readers, which would also be loaded with books.
The converted vehicles interior/exterior also needed to be branded with the ‘for Dummies’ corporate colour scheme
We suggested one of our HGV’s which had just completed a 4 week NHS Health Check campaign and after visiting the vehicle, Sledge agreed.
The Result
Sledge provided a range of Concept drawings of both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, which allowed us to quickly cost the vehicle conversion work.
After minor changes to suit budget constraints we began the vehicle conversion process.
All existing wall, floor coverings were removed, along with various other fixtures and fittings including partition walls and seats.
We then set to, installing new wall and floor coverings, bespoke worktop, cupboards and bookshelves, Kindle and iPad holders, before applying the full vinyl wrap to the exterior
The vehicle then commenced a 2 week tour of the UK, parking in city centre locations for each days events
