As with the first Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council Covid testing bus conversion BCP Council required a second Covid-19 self test bus configured with several cubicles to allow their front line workers to undertake a covid-19 self test.
Since none of our vehicles, other than RSP09, which we had configured for BCP were configured with individual cubicles we again reviewed the fleet to see which of the buses would be suitable to convert and be as covid safe as we could make it.
Of the vehicle which were suitable RSP05 was considered the quickest to be converted. The bus conversion would involve removing a partition wall, several worktops and removal of a door in the midsection then install cubicles in the provided space.
After everything was removed and all other equipment was covered we assessed that 4 front to rear self test cubicles could be installed, each with its own shelf and mirror.
With everything in place we believe it’s as covid safe as we could make it, with the flow of visitors entering through the self test bus front door, after which the visitor enters a cubicle, undertakes the self test, then exits the vehicle via the middle exit door.
In addition the bus has 2 hand sanitizer dispensers installed, none of the opening windows have been covered and each of the cubicles is easily cleanable.
