5 Promotional Vehicle Myth-Bus-Ters
“You’ll never be able to do that on a bus, will you?” Let’s bust a few myths about your promotional vehicle campaign with Roadshow Promotions.
There are two types of Roadshow Promotions client. One type has used us before. They know what we can do. They have a pretty good idea of what they need this time.
The other type of customer is feeling their way, and needs our help not just to make their promotional bus campaign a reality, but to understand what’s possible and how it all comes together.
“Um, so, I think we want to run a mobile marketing campaign and I’ve been asked to put some options together. Could you help us out?”
We have that sort of conversation virtually every day. We love having those conversations. It’s not as though we expect everyone to know the intricacies of an event bus conversion – we realise that for many clients, this will be the first time they’ve considered it – so we’re only too happy to start at the beginning. That helps to ensure we’re giving the client exactly what they need. It also helps to dispel a few myths they may have picked up on their way to us. Myths such as…

- “Set up at each location will take time, won’t it?”
Myth 1: It takes hours to set up
If you’ve had experience of taking other mobile vehicles on tour (such as trailers) you’ll know they can take time to erect and take down again, which can affect how much you can actually get done on your promotional tour.
That’s not the case when you choose a campaign bus. Everything you need is on board – from Wi-Fi to AV, to the power sockets, to the kettle. So whether you need an exhibition bus, training bus, marketing bus or something else, you’ll find that once you reach your next venue you’ll be all set up and ready to go in minutes.
- “You’ll never be able to do that on a bus, will you?”
Myth 2: A promotional bus will always look and feel like, well… a bus
It’s true that sometimes our clients want the promotional power of their campaign bus to be focused on the exterior. We can wrap/skin a bus in a virtually limitless range of ways and with any design or branding.
But when you let your imagination run wild, you’ll be amazed by what’s possible on the inside of the bus too. A hotel room. A training suite. A reading room. A meeting space, all carrying your branding.
So when you want to do something truly ‘out there’ to engage your audience, talk to us about doing it better on a bus.
- “What, even the kitchen sink?”
Myth 3: A campaign bus will never match your specific needs
Yes it will. It will because our campaign vehicles already arrive equipped with so much onboard (including, if you need it, a kitchen sink).
Yet beyond that, our bespoke bus conversions can deliver virtually anything you need and nothing you don’t. For Johnson & Johnson, for example, that meant creating medical equipment display areas on the lower deck and surgeon practice bays and a meeting area on the upper deck. For Jury’s Inn/Leonardo Hotels, the entire upper deck became a hotel room with bed, desk, chair and floor lamp.
- “We need more than a campaign bus – we need all the tour logistics managing too.”
Myth 4: Once the bus is delivered, you’re on your own
Your never on your own. We’ve been helping famous brands run successful promotional marketing road tours for years. It means we’ve built a huge network of partners and connections that can make organising your next campaign a stress-free experience. From tour bus driver to local council permits, local event teams, security and even the catering, we can take care of it all.

5. “The bus has solar panels?”
Myth 5: An event bus isn’t a very clean/green way of running a campaign
It’s cleaner (and much more economical) than you might think. Our latest exhibition vehicles and engagement buses are low emission vehicles which use solar panels to generate their own electrical power as they are driven from location to location.
If you’ve been imagining a smelly diesel vehicle arriving at your site, it really doesn’t have to be like that.
